This
is a Team Lantern Competition held in conjunction with the
FAMILY FEAST OF LANTERNS 2002 organised by Bones-N-Flesh Arts
and the Ministry of Community Development and Sports to promote
lantern-making as a fun and rewarding family outing and activity.
To qualify to join, at least 2 persons who are related by
family ties are needed to form a team. Not only immediate
family members but family relatives such as cousins may also
form a team.
For the Lanterns-making Competition, he organisers have drawn
up 2 major categories of lantern creations to be judged:
Category
1: Family Love Expressions Lanterns
Have
you said I Love U lately? To your spouse? To your
children? We invite you to say it to one another now on a Family
Lantern designed and built by everyone in the family!
Category
2: Cross-cultural Lanterns
Create
your own version of a cross-cultural lantern using ethnic materials
eg. make a lantern using fabrics like Batik, Indian Sari, or
Chinese Silk, or paint a picture with a cultural motif, a picture
from a picture book, a folktale, myth or legend.
