It’s simple, really! Groups gathered to join in the fun constructing their very own original hand-made lanterns, creatively using their own choices of raw materials which may include just RECYCLING THINGS found in homes and offices! The theme of the lantern designs fell into one of these thematic highlights of the Family Feast of Lanterns 2003:

Category 1: Cross-Cultural Themes

Cross-cultural lanterns can be made from materials like Batik Silk, Indian Sari or Raw Cotton and materials like Bamboo, Pandan Leaves, and Palm. They may be just done with plain paper but with Paintings or Calligraphy presenting cultural motifs.

Category 2: Family Love Lanterns

These were hot favourites at last year’s Feast!
