Family Feast of Lanterns 2004

“Family Feast of Lanterns” has always been inspirationally distinct from all the other lantern events! Birthed by the creative leadership in our Society, namely, Bones-n-Flesh Arts, we have undoubtedly scored several FIRSTS with our Family Feast of Lanterns being :

• FIRST to gather families together, intergenerationally, and inspired them to design and create their very own “Family Lantern” using non-traditional lantern materials and discover this as fun exercise in famiy bonding.

• FIRST to encourage and generously reward the innovative designs of “home-crafted lanterns” coming our from ordinary men women and children from all walks of life who have displayed remarkable ingenuity: for example, producing lanterns from discarded CD boxes, a broken umbrella frame and used parking coupons to name but a few outstanding exhibits !

• FIRST to introduce “Cross-cultural” designs of home-crafted lanterns made from raw ethnic materials like batik, banana leaf other than the usual !

• FIRST to introduce communal lantern-making as an enjoyable and artistically enriching group and team-bonding activity.

And to add to this, Bones-n-Flesh Arts brings to traditional Christmas landscape, a brand-new Christmas surprise ..
