OUR MISSION

Bones-N-Flesh Arts is a society with a mission to develop ways to revive
meaning, purpose, joy and creative vitality in family, individual and corporate
life in cities and business centres. Increasingly, busy professionals living and

working in world commercial and financial hubs are finding they have precious

little time left for their “personal lives”. Even the singles are stressed, let alone

parents who have to share time with their children!

Bones-N-Flesh Arts is a non-profit society registered with Singapore Registrar of Societies. Bones-N-Flesh Arts has an international vision for the nations of the world.

The Arts is one of the main tools the Society has chosen to bring fun and vitality back into people’s lives. We believe Arts is not only aesthetically enriching it’s thereupatic as well. Currently the Society is producing and conducting arts education projects. In addition, the Society produces Community Arts Events.
The Mission of this new society is:

To produce drama, visual arts and literacy works that strengthen the family unit, address family issues, foster values which make for stronger and more loving families.
To make enjoyment of the arts accessible to the larger community and help promote, encourage and inspire artistic appreciation in people of all ages and from all walks of life. We are opposed to the philosophy of art being elitist!
To organise programmes to educate the uninitiated in the arts and provide opportunities for physically challenged artists to make a gainful living using their talents while making the community more beautiful as well.

  WHY BONES-N-FLESH?
Many people find our name Bones-N-Flesh Arts most intriguing – and wonder why we decided to call ourselves that.

Universally speaking, the imagery of “bones” is a rich one that conjures up many different mental pictures. Life or death? It depends. When we’re told need more calcium to build up our bones – we speak about life. Yet the thought of a human skeleton – often speaks of death.

The next thought we want to share is even more stunning:
“Bone” is the first “noun” ever used in human language.

In the first book of the Bible, Genesis 2:22-23 tells us when the first man Adam woke up from his deep sleep and there was Eve created by God as the most suitable companion for him, Adam (I guess fell in love with her at first sight) and look what he said! Adam exclaimed:

“This is now bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh”.

Before Eve arrived, Adam was surrounded by animals and birds, so it would seem highly unlikely Adam was able to engage in conversation (unless it was with the parrots!) But as there is no record of that, we can safely say that based on the account from Genesis the word “bone” is the first common noun used in human language.

In the book of Ezekiel, the prophet Ezekiel was brought into a Valley of Dry Bones – that’s spiritual death!

It’s just as exciting to discover what “Bones-N-Flesh Arts” means in Chinese language, “Bones-N-Flesh” in Chinese literally means “family offsprings”.
